No Way This Could Possibly Backfire

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

So a New York State Senator wants to have convicted drug dealers register like sex offendors do.

Well.

This will certainly take the sleuthing out of finding a connect.

Almost seriously though I’m wondering if this guy isn’t being payed off by some genius drug lord who wants to keep his underlings stuck in the industry.

Key difference between sex offenders and dealers: dealer’s “victims” WANT to be “victimized” by him/her as much as they can afford (and then some).

The Guy I’d Consider Voting For If I Wasn’t Prohibited By Law From Voting

Ron Paul. Am I right or am I right?

So far he’s most known to the general public for his  exchange w/ Rudy at one of the debates. Rudy got a big pop from the git-r-done crowd in South Carolina for his simplistic response to Paul trying to be realistic about why we were attacked on 9/11. For some reason I’m probably just overlooking trying to explore the issue of what motivates people to kill themselves for the purpose of killing us is some kind of light treason.

Anyway his stance on the War on Drugs is one that should make any stoner take a good look at him. I know most politically aware smokers don’t give much consideration to any Republican candiates, but I think Paul is worth considering. But hey like the title says I won’t be voting for anyone for over a decade (commmeee on expungement!), so if anyone else has opinions on the plethora of 2008 presidential candidates let’s hear it…

Probation

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I have been on probation for a marijuana related felony for two and a half years now, with my actual arrest being three years ago. Let me tell you people something, despite what you might of heard, being a felon on probation sucks. It really sucks. No joke here, brahs.

One of the most rewarding parts of my probation experience is that I have had to urinate in a cup while my PO’s arm is hanging in the door numerous times. Recently it seems that I may be saved from this embarrassing ritual for the final five months of my probation, as I got a new PO in February who told me, “You haven’t been drug tested in a while, but eww I hate doing drug tests.” Hey, no arguments here, Miss. Another bonus of drug testing is that the amount of weed I can smoke is limited due to how long it can linger in your system (fat cells…). Of course, other drugs do not stay nearly as long in your system, so while I have abstained from smoking marijuana for months, I have gone for months totally doped up off my ass on a variety of painkillers. I’m talking buying a bottle of Methadone and keeping it under my bed, Anna Nicole style, so I have a reason to wake up in the morning. Very easy to conceal from probation as I have the ability to play it safe and cut if off five days to a week before I go in to report.

I’m not trying to pretend probation is worse then jail, however. Jail REALLY sucks. It sucks so much that if I was there now I would not be able to blog about how much jail sucks. So then what exactly am I whining about? The consequences of my behavior perhaps? I guess so, and you can expect a lot more of that in my blog, so I hope that kinda thing strikes a chord with the blog reading public. Anyway, I will continue to let self-righteousness permeate throughout my tone while discussing this subject as Jesus Christ after all it’s a weed charge, I didn’t molest any kids for Christ’s sake.

The real lesson for you readers is to think out the consequences of your actions. No matter how bogus a set of laws might seem to you, this is America, not Canada, and they will not hesitate to enforce those laws if you give them half a chance. So please people, give every illegal action you take in life at least a minute of thought. With all this in mind here is something that you should all be familiar with, but which is always good to review. If you are not familiar with it then get to reading. If anyone else has some experiences with the law let me know.

Information Superhighway

If you’re like me you constantly check out federal law enforcement websites which may contain tidbits of marijuana related infomration. Once I read that marijuana was selling for up to $100 a gram in North Jersey. Ahem. Anyway one very interesting LE publication I have found is the DEA’s Microgram Bulletins. Basically any new method of drug smuggling, concealing, moving, etc. the DEA becomes aware of and finds interesting they report here. Some cool stuff in there, so check it out.

Welcome

My name is Mauricio. My state is New Jersey. My age begins with a “2.”

My stance has always been that I have aboslutely no prior experience with marijuana. Which fails to explain my criminal record. Anyway, being a college educated felon means that on paper I am overqualified for the vast majority of the jobs that are open to me, and thus I am left with a surplus of free time (and bitterness too).

The result of that free time is my gift to you, dear readers. Marijuana news and views (mostly mine) from around the world.  Check back often.

Sparking it up…

I’d like to announce the official launch of Blunt Notes, your online resource for pot related news, politics, laws, and culture with a decidedly “blunt” style.

I’d like to welcome and congratulate your new blog author and editor, Mauricio Enigma. He should be posting soon and letting you know a little bit about himself.

Enjoy, and always pass the Blunt on!
