When asked how much compensation they’re seeking, the couple’s attorney, Robert Corry, replied, “We’re asking for the Drug Enforcement Agency’s estimate of what the marijuana plants are worth.
That could be well over $1,000 a plant.”I think it’s fundamental that we’re able to use the same figures that they use against us,” James said. “If they’re inflated, then maybe they (the DEA) shouldn’t be using them in a court of law to condemn somebody for five or six years.”
Hahahhahaha! For years I’ve steamed over DEA riling the public up by saying ridiculous things like BC Bud and cocaine were being traded on a pound for pound basis, or that weed was selling for up to $100 a gram in North Jersey, so this couple gets my nomination for potheads of the year for shoving it back in law enforcement’s face. I really hope this goes to trial (provided it doesn’t hurt the Masters) so we can see “experts” trying to defend and/or back peddle from their numbers.
I mentioned two ridiculous LE “prices” that I’ve seen, if anyone else has some to report let me know, I’m always up for a good laugh.
Ok, Ron Paul (aka the man who wants to dismantle the DEA) if you remember was described as being “owned” by Fox News and other neo-con outlets after the Republican debate in S.C. where the crowd roared with approval after Rudy asked him to take back one of his comments. Ok, they didn’t say “owned” but would have been much cooler if they did.
Anywho, if you haven’t notcied Paul has beaten Rudy in most every primary thus far. Ha…ha! In fact he came in second, in Nevada. Read it and weep Mr. “Oxy is less harmful than weed, why else woud I lobby for it” G.
…so I highly encourage all of my readers to check out www.gorillaconvict.com. It’s by a guy named Seth “Soul Man” Ferranti who is doing a quarter century bit for a LSD kingpin charge. Has some great insight into prison life in general, and the federal prison system in particular.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend loyal readers, hope it’s a good one.
In good news I found my bottle of Green Dragon that has been missing for a couple months, I gave a friend some and he claimed it to be the most powerful substance he had taken. Quite touching brahs, it brought a tear to my eye….
Sorry for the delay in new postings, and approval of comments (great to see some new readers) but my beloved dog died on November 1st. We put him down after a sudden, unexpected (he was only six and a half)Â illness that turned out to be cancer. He was suffering so we had him put down, he went down with my grandmother hugging him, and me holding his head looking him in the eyes, both of us telling him how much we loved him.
He was truly a family member and I am still in mourning for him, however I promise to return to blogging soon.
I don’t think the “I don’t know what marijuana is” thing will fly in the US but it’s worth a shot. From somebody. Not me. But if one of my loyal readers ever gets busted and plays that card let me know and I’ll hold a special place in my heart for you forever, and possibly send you money for your legal fund.
Those of us who read pro-legalization material on anything approaching a regular basis you are familiar to seeing alcohol related double standards that would make you want to smash your monitor if you had not been smoking weed (note that I was drunk when “Arrested Development” went off the air and I was swinging around a sickle…there is still a chunk of my friend’s jaclet missing). Still here is one that should have all objects in the room with their gaurd up.
First the stories that pushed people into hysterics evidently regarded primarily a 17 year old with documented past psychological problems leaping to her death while shrooming. Another story which got a lot of play in the Dutch media was a British tourist who ran “amok (amok!)” in a hotel and went so far as to break a window, and cut his hand “badly.”……MY GOD! Are we sure this terroroid was not some kind of cyborg sent back to kill humanities savior! Now here comes the best part…
She said each case also involved the use of alcohol — against the advice of sellers — but it was the mushrooms that were blamed.
Can anyone else confirm this? Jesus Christ someone gets drunk, shrooms, wrecks stuff and now people in the Netherlands of all places can’t sell mushrooms. On the other hand maybe there’s some kind of upside to all of this…
Prices will rise, and dealers will sell dried mushrooms, or LSD as a substitute, to tourists with no guidance.
